About The Crap Filter

The Comics:
A Webcomic is a comic that people produce in their spare time and post to the web for free, bypassing the Evil Comic Company and Newspaper Minions! Anyone with a scanner and a dream can post to the web... And there's the problem. Everyone with a scanner and a dream DOES post to the web resulting in a lot of crappy comics mixed in with the few quality comics out there. I don't want to ever discourage the young artists, but its a bit like walking through my toddler son's room when he's dumped ALL of his toys into the middle of the room and has hidden my iPod in the pile.

And that's where I come in...

The Goal:
The goal of Webcomic Crap Filter is to sift through the pile to find the gems of good comics waiting for your eyes!  I look for good Art Style (with plenty of personality), Good story or humor content, and overall good Web presentation. So, If I post it here, its good. Period.

The Setup:
I present a few images/pages from the site along with their synopsis, my thoughts on the comic, and a link to them at the bottom. I keep this all short because your time is valuable, and you don't need much to go on to check out a site.

Think of me as your friend who says, “Hey, check out this comic: It's got swords and dragons and stuff!” -OR- “Check out this site: The story is really cool and really funny!”

Also, for you young aspiring Comic Artists out there, there is “Tutorial Corner” where I show some interesting tutorials on the different aspects of Webcomic-ing. (bring your Photoshop/Gimp skills!)
